Waterloo Region Museum is the largest community museum in Ontario. Our main gallery tells the story of Waterloo Region and our feature gallery showcases local and travelling exhibits from around the world. Waterloo Region Museum is open daily and is the entrance to Doon Heritage Village.

Doon Heritage Village is a picturesque 60 acre living history village that shows visitors what life was like in Waterloo Region in 1914. The village is open seasonally from May 1 to December 23. One admission price includes entry to the Waterloo Region Museum exhibit galleries and village.

Joseph Schneider Haus is a dynamic community museum and local landmark in downtown Kitchener that is a National Historic Site. The 1816 Georgian frame farmhouse was built by one of the area’s first pioneers, Joseph Schneider, a Pennsylvania-German Mennonite.

McDougall Cottage, an 1858 granite and limestone labourer’s dwelling, is located in downtown Cambridge. Home for more than a century to two families of hardworking Scots, the McDougalls and the Bairds, this charming cottage boasts the most spectacular hand-painted friezes and trompe l’oeil ceilings in Ontario.

On exhibit now to April 26. Laurie's life-long interest in glass followed a natural path. Her youthful appreciation for glass moved her through stained glass and into the warm realm of fused and kiln-formed glass. Her current body of glass art is based on close observations of nature. Often with camera in hand, she seeks the unnoticed and revels in closely examining the graphic grace and simplicity found in our natural world.
